North American Counter-Strike player Pujan “FNS” Mehta is set to leave the Counter Logic Gaming team and will not play for the organization moving forward, according to multiple sources. FNS joined CLG at the beginning of 2017 and lead them to their best result of the year, a semi-final appearance at DreamHack Summer.
One source explained that it is FNS’ decision to leave the team, citing a “disagreement” between him and others from the organization. It is expected that an announcement with more information will come later in the week. It was revealed in Episode 2 of the Per Sources Podcast that the team had recently been trying out new players in practice.
CLG narrowly missed qualifying for the Season 6 ESL Pro League Finals and was just able to avoid having to play a relegation for ECS Season 4, where they finished 8th place. Since the loss of star players Tarik “tarik” Celik and Josh “jdm64” Marzano in 2016, CLG have largely failed to match the level of play from the top teams in North America.
