Counter Logic Gaming is asking for upwards of $500,000 for the core of their contracted CS:GO team, according to multiple sources. Steve “reltuC” Cutler, Kenneth “koosta” Suen, Ethan “nahtE” Arnold, and coach Steve “Ryu” Rattacasa have expressed their interest in playing together for another organization but must be purchased to do so.
It was reported last week that Counter Logic Gaming would withdraw entirely from CS:GO and that was confirmed with an official announcement by CLG last Thursday, November 30th. Multiple sources explained that the move was strictly financial, in an ongoing attempt to cut costs. It is also expected that the CEO of CLG, Devin Nash, will leave his position by the end of the year.
Australian AWPer Ricky “Rickeh” Mulholland is also under contract but not expected to play with the former CLG core. He will still have to find a buyer for his services in 2018. Pujan “FNS” Mehta is expected to remain teamless until his contract expires within the next few months.
The former CLG lineup narrowly missed qualifying for the Season 6 ESL Pro League Finals last month and were just able to avoid having to play a relegation for ECS Season 4, where they finished 8th place. It is believed that the purchasing organization for this team would receive both spots ESL Pro League and the Esports Championship Series.
